The ship is collecting supplies and undergoing further assessment. It is intended that 'Black Watch' will then sail north to London Tilbury later this week for further repairs. An exact time frame for this has yet to be confirmed.

Guests from Black Watch’s 13-night W1608 ‘Madeira, Portugal & the Azores’ cruise have returned home safely, or have settled into their alternative travel arrangements. Guests booked onto the cancelled 9-night W1609 ‘Norwegian Fjords’ cruise, which was due to sail from London Tilbury on 8th July 2016, have been informed by letter/e-mail, and can call the office on 01473 742424 with any queries.

'Black Watch' guests were flown from Funchal, Madeira back to the UK, into London Stansted and London Gatwick airports, on three private charter aircraft yesterday [Monday 4th July 2016], and have returned to their homes. Fred. Olsen will be starting to call guests from tomorrow [Wednesday 6th July 2016] to ensure that they arrived safely and whether they require any further assistance.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines can confirm that Black Watch is due to arrive in Funchal, Madeira today [Saturday 2nd July 2016], as scheduled, at 17.00 hours, two hours earlier than previously advised. There has been some cabling damage on board, which is affecting lighting and communications, but all other services are working as normal.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines can confirm that there was a fire on board its cruise ship, Black Watch, on Friday 1st July 2016, in the Auxiliary Engine Room, which was extinguished by the crew. There have been no injuries to guests or crew. The Captain is keeping guests fully informed at all times. Two main engines are now fully operational, and the ship is en-route to Funchal, Madeira.
