Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ can confirm that Black Watch set sail from Funchal, Madeira at ca. 12.30pm yesterday, and is scheduled to arrive in El Ferrol, Spain at midday on Saturday 9th July 2016, to collect supplies and undergo further assessment. It is intended that Black Watch will then sail north to London Tilbury for further repairs. An exact time frame for this has yet to be confirmed.
All guests booked onto Black Watch’s nine-night W1609 ‘Norwegian Fjords’ cruise, which was due to sail from London Tilbury on Friday 8th July 2016, have been informed of the unfortunate cancellation by letter and e-mail, and an update has been placed on the corporate website. Guests can contact the office on 01473 742424 with any queries. Guests have been offered a full refund, or the opportunity to select any alternative 2016 cruise, up to 32 nights (in a comparable room grade), at no additional cost, plus receive a future cruise voucher for 20% of the W1609 cruise fare, for new bookings, valid until 31st December 2016.
Fred. Olsen fully expects Black Watch to set sail on her scheduled 26-night W1610 ‘Arctic’ cruise from London Tilbury as planned, on Sunday 17th July 2016.
Fred. Olsen is pleased that many Black Watch guests continue to make new bookings, which we hope is a testament to the Captain, Officers and crew on board Black Watch and the professional way in which the situation has been handled.
Fred. Olsen appreciates the kindness and co-operation of all its Black Watch guests and their families, and thanks them for their patience and understanding in these very challenging circumstances.
