Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ Boudicca to commence cruise season from Dover in Spring 2015

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ 880-guest ship Boudicca is due to commence her cruise season from Dover on 7th April 2015, with a seven-night ‘France & Spain’ sailing. In all, Fred. Olsen is offering five cruises from Dover on board Boudicca in 2015/16, plus a further 16 departures on board 929-guest Braemar.

Fred. Olsen will be offering guests in the South East a variety of itineraries on board Boudicca, including a seven-night ‘Norwegian Fjords’adventure,a 15-night ‘Film Stars and Fast Cars' sailing, which will call into Nice, for tours to one of the most famous motoring events in the world – the Monaco Grand Prix – and at Cannes, for the glamorous Cannes Film Festival, as well as an 11-night ‘Around the UK’ cruise.

Boudicca’s sailings from Dover in 2015/16 include:

- 14-night D1508 ‘Floral Canaries’ cruise, departing on 14th April 2015. Prices start from £799 per person.

Guests will arrive first in Leixoes, in Portugal, for tours to nearby Oporto. Here, they can visit one of the many Port cellars, or take a leisurely stroll along the famous River Douro.

The cruise then takes guests to Funchal, in Madeira, on 19th April 2015, where the ship will stay overnight. There will be plenty of time for guests to explore this exquisite ‘Garden Island’ and soak up all that its celebrated ‘Flower Festival’ has to offer – glorious sunshine, the finest flower displays and an abundance of local traditions, festivities and celebrations.

Boudicca will then cruise onto Santa Cruz in Tenerife, where guests can take a tour to the Pyramids of Guimar and the Secret Garden, which is home to an intriguing selection of poisonous plants.

Next stop is Arrecife, in Lanzarote, where guests can experience a camel ride through the rocks of Fire Mountain in the Timanfaya National Park, or visit the beautiful saltwater lagoon of Jameos del Agua Cave and Cesar Monique’s unique cactus garden.

Guests will then have a day to explore Cádiz, in Spain. The scenic waterfront offers guests a tempting choice of bars and cafés, and is a popular destination for those wanting to unwind with a glass of Sherry from Jerez de la Frontera.

- 11-night D1509 ‘Around the UK’ cruise, departing on 28th April 2015. Prices start from £899 per person.

Explore the natural beauty of our homelands on this cruise of the UK. Guests will arrive first in charming St. Peter Port, in Guernsey, where they will find an abundance of antique shops, boutiques and stylish cafés.

Next is a call to Falmouth, where guests can travel to see the spectacular Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, before cruising onto Milford Haven, for tours to Pembrokeshire, in Wales. Guests can wander through Picton Castle and Gardens; visit the medieval fortress of Pembroke Castle – the birthplace of Henry Tudor; or marvel at the wonderful National Botanic Garden of Wales.

Boudicca will then cruise to Liverpool, where she will dock next to the iconic Liver Building. Here, guests can visit one of the many museums, including Tate Liverpool, the International Slavery Museum and the Beatles Story.

Next, is a full day of scenic cruising past Firth of Lorn, Duart Castle, Sound of Mull, Point of Sleat on the Isle of Skye and Loch Scavaig.

Guests will then arrive in Kirkwall, on the Orkney Islands. The area has an eclectic heritage of Christian, Nordic and Celtic influences, which can be seen in the sculpted churches and local buildings. Kirkwall also has two impressive museums: Tankerness House, a beautifully-preserved 16th Century town house; and the Orkney Wireless Museum, which has unique displays on the history of radio.

Boudicca will then cruise to Invergordon, in Scotland, where there is a chance to discover Scottish history at the 15th Century Cawdor Castle, or take a tour to go in search of the legendary Loch Ness Monster.

Next, is a call to the beautiful city of Edinburgh, from Rosyth. Guests can explore the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle, or visit the renowned Royal Botanical Gardens.

The final port of call takes guests to North Shields, for tours to Northumberland. With a full day to explore this area of culture and historical attractions, guests can visit Alnwick Castle, Hadrian’s Wall or Castle Keep – a well preserved Norman Stone Castle.

- Seven-night D1510 ‘Mountains, Waterfalls & Fjords’ cruise, departing from Dover on 9th May 2015. Prices start from £549 per person.

With Fred. Olsen’s proud Norwegian heritage and smaller ships, guests will experience the very best of Norway on this Spring cruise. Guests will spend the first day enjoying a scenic cruise through some of Norway’s most iconic landscapes: the mighty Lysefjord – one of the ‘pearls of Norway’, featuring ‘Preikestolen’ (‘Pulpit Rock’) and ‘Kjerag’ (‘The Mountain Bolt’); Karmsundet; and along Åkrafjord, to the mighty Langfoss Waterfall.

Boudicca will then arrive in the pretty village of Olden, which is set amongst green meadows and rural tranquillity. From here, guests can take a tour to Jostedalen Glacier and the famous glacier arm, Briksdal.

Boudicca will then cruise past Hornelen, in Nordfjord – one of Norway’s longest fjords – before arriving in Flåm. Here, guests can admire the impressive surroundings by taking the Flåm Railway, a masterpiece of engineering that climbs up by almost a thousand metres.

Next is a cruise along Nærøyfjord, which is rated by National Geographic as the number one natural heritage site, before arriving in the Hanseatic city of Bergen. Guests can visit the UNESCO-listed Bryggen Wharf, with its colourful timbered houses and cobbled streets, the vibrant fish market, the Troldhaugen Museum, or take a trip on the funicular railway to the top of Mount Fløyen.

All prices listed are based on two adults sharing a twin-bedded, Inside cabin, and include accommodation, all meals and entertainment on board, and port dues. Guests can also choose to upgrade to the ‘all-inclusive’ drinks package for just £10 per person, per night on selected drinks*.
