Braemar's 'Western Caribbean & Central America' fly-cruise update - 11/03/2020
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has taken the decision to cancel the next cruise of its ship Braemar – ‘Islands of the Caribbean & the Azores’ (M2006) –after a small number of guests and crew who are currently on board tested positive for COVID-19 Coronavirus. Braemar is currently in the Caribbean on a 14-night ‘Western Caribbean & Central America’ cruise.
One guest and four crew members have been confirmed with COVID-19 Coronavirus after testing yesterday. There was also one guest with an inconclusive result and one guest with a negative result.
The Captain, medical team and Senior Officers continue to keep all guests and crew updated about next steps. The highest level of sanitisation is already in operation aboard the ship, which includes the suspension of self-service buffets and increased cleaning around the ship.
The safety and well-being of all our guests and crew is our number one priority and we are taking the latest advice from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and World Health Organisation, as well as Public Health England and CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association).
Fred. Olsen’s cruise ships meet, at all times, the highest safety, hygiene and health standards.
