Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ Bolette to set sail on maiden world cruise in 2025

One of Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ ships will embark on her maiden around the world voyage in 2025.

As part of the ‘Voyage of Exploration Around the World’ setting sail in January 2025, Bolette will visit beautiful destinations, including Brazil, Chile, French Polynesia, Australia and South Africa among many others.

The epic 106-night voyage includes the opportunity to visit some of the southern hemisphere’s iconic sites, such as Sydney’s Harbour and Opera House, the mysterious Moai statues on Easter Island, and South Africa’s Table Mountain and Signal Hill.

Martin Lister, Head of Itinerary Planning and Destination Experience at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:

“This extra special voyage for Bolette’sfirst world cruise has been hand-crafted by our team of Journey Planners to enable our guests to sail in the wake of famous historical explorers and will follow a similar route to the first world circumnavigation by Magellan and Elcano in 1519.

“It will also cruise the south coast of Australia as British navigator Matthew Flinders did in 1801, and will call into places visited by the likes of Captain James Cook and Alexander Selkirk – the Scottish sailor who was the inspiration for Daniel Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe novel.

“Guests will be able to witness some of the world’s most impressive vistas, experience diverse culture and encounter wildlife as well as explore some of the lesser known and less frequently visited gems like Robinson Crusoe Island.”

Highlights on the South American leg of the adventure include seeing iconic landmarks such as Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil, awe-inspiring natural wonders like Sugar Loaf Mountain and the Chilean Fjords, experience the Latin American culture with tango in Argentina and encounter wildlife including Magellan penguins.

From there, guests will experience the beauty of Bora Bora and Tonga, while iconic landmarks and natural wonders such as the Blue Mountains await in Australia.

The final leg of the journey will see guests enjoy Africa and the Indian Ocean, with the chance to seek out the Big Five in South Africa and reach the remote island of St Helena in the South Atlantic.

Guests can enjoy up to £600 per person to spend on board or free door-to-door transfers covering up to 250 mainland miles from the port.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines we are very proud of our smaller ships – Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral - and the imaginative and unusual itineraries they allow us to offer. Every cruise is hand-crafted from scratch by our team of in-house Journey Planners to make sure you are not only visiting the best destinations, but at the best time to experience them.

For us, it’s not just about where we go but how we take you there. We put as much time into planning scenic cruising as we do in choosing the destinations themselves. On board, our Signature Experiences showcase the history, culture, nature and flavours of the destinations you’ll visit – from Treats of the Region, where you can enjoy local delicacies, to our Sky at Sea star-gazing sessions where you can relax with a hot toddy out on deck while our astronomer talks you through the night sky.

Plus, with each ship carrying 1,300 guests or less, our ships are small enough for us to offer a warm, friendly and personal service where nothing is ever too much trouble, as we visit a host of exciting ports in every corner of the globe.
