Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines celebrates record-breaking launch for its 2028 cruise programme

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has delivered the strongest trading day in its history following the launch of its new 2028 cruise programme, breaking its own trading record for the second time this year.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines opened bookings for its new 2028 cruise programme on 7 October, having unveiled the collection the previous week alongside the early release of its ‘Scenic Highlights of Canada’ cruise, which sold out in less than two weeks from launch.

The programme features 39 new cruises departing between January and July 2028, including regional departures from Liverpool, Newcastle, Rosyth and Portsmouth, alongside fly-cruise options aboard Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines' fleet of smaller ships.

The launch generated unprecedented levels of demand and exceptionally high booking volumes throughout the day, delivering the strongest trading day in the company’s history for the second time this year – surpassing the previous record set in July with the launch of the 87-night 2028 Amazon & Antarctica Grand Voyage.

Geoff Ridgeon, Head of Sales at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:

“The response to our new 2028 cruise programme has been exceptional, with demand exceeding our expectations and delivering the strongest booking day in our history for the second time this year.

“I’d like to thank our fantastic trade partners and guests for their patience while we managed unprecedented levels of demand. We’re delighted by the enthusiasm we’ve seen for these sailings and excited to help more guests discover more of the world with us in 2028.”

The record-breaking launch builds on strong demand across Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ 2026 and 2027 sailings, reflecting the continued appeal of its smaller-ship cruising experience, destination-led itineraries and investment in enhancing the guest experience.

Among the most in-demand sailings in the new programme were a 13-night voyage visiting nine Northern European countries, an 18-night cruise exploring the Italian Riviera and Amalfi Coast, and a 37-night island-hopping adventure taking in Bermuda, the Bahamas and Puerto Rico.

The wider programme includes itineraries ranging from scenic sailings around the Norwegian Fjords and British Isles to specially timed departures to seek out the Northern Lights, alongside fly-cruise holidays to the Mediterranean and Atlantic Islands.

Guests who book by 4 November 2026 can take advantage of Fred. Olsen's Freedom Fare Price Promise, offering reassurance that their cruise will not be available at a lower price than within the first four weeks of going on sale. During this period, solo travellers can also benefit from a selection of cabins with no single supplement.
