Recreate part of the Celebrity Race Across the World route with a Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines sailing

Have you been inspired by the BBC’s Celebrity Race Across the World which saw four famous pairings travel through 24 countries?

The teams started their epic journey in Marrakech, Morocco, and travelled 10,000km to reach the finish line in Tromsø, Norway.

The journey saw the pairs race through every landscape and culture that this part of the world has to offer, from the great North African city of Marrakech, through the seaside ports and beaches of the Mediterranean, to unrivalled historic and cosmopolitan cities, the Alps, unexplored Central Europe, the fairy-tale Baltic States and snowy Scandinavia.

And the best news for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ guests? Many of the destinations visited and routes taken are ports of call for cruises on board its fleet of three smaller ships Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral.

Clare Ward, Director of Product and Customer Service at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:

“Celebrity Race Across the World will have inspired many people to visit the 24 countries featured in the competition.

“Instead of racing against the clock, with gruelling overnight train and coach journeys, why not set sail with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines in absolute comfort?

“From Tangier in Morocco and Propriano in Corsica to Split in Croatia and Narvik in Norway, we have something to suit everyone with countless highlights and hand-crafted itineraries curated to include unforgettable sights and immersive experiences off the beaten tourist track.”

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines we are very proud of our smaller ships – Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral - and the imaginative and unusual itineraries they allow us to offer. Every cruise is hand-crafted from scratch by our team of in-house Journey Planners to make sure you are not only visiting the best destinations, but at the best time to experience them.

For us, it’s not just about where we go but how we take you there. We put as much time into planning scenic cruising as we do in choosing the destinations themselves. On board, our Signature Experiences showcase the history, culture, nature and flavours of the destinations you’ll visit – from Treats of the Region, where you can enjoy local delicacies, to our Sky at Sea star-gazing sessions where you can relax with a hot toddy out on deck while our astronomer talks you through the night sky.

Plus, with each ship carrying 1,300 guests or less, our ships are small enough for us to offer a warm, friendly and personal service where nothing is ever too much trouble, as we visit a host of exciting ports in every corner of the globe.
