Award-Winning Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines offers great benefits for Singles groups
Cruise experts at influential website Cruise Critic recently voted Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines ‘Best for Solo Cruisers’ in the third annual Cruise Critic ‘2011 Editors' Picks Awards’.
Praising Fred. Olsen’s commitment to solo cruisers, the Cruise Critic judges said: “With more than 300 single cabins of varying size across its four-ship fleet, a Gentleman and Lady Dance Host programme for single dancers and singles’ events on board, Fred. Olsen remains the line most committed to keeping the solo traveller happy.”
Ellie Fulcher, Group Sales Executive for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines said: ‘This award is great news, and we are delighted that it follows a series of accolades awarded to Fred. Olsen this year. With the large number of single cabins on our ships, in a choice of grades, we are perfectly placed to host groups of singles. For single guests who prefer a twin cabin, we can also offer a reduced sole occupancy supplement of 75% on selected cabin grades.’
Groups on a Fred. Olsen cruise enjoy a host of special benefits. All group bookings on Fred. Olsen cruises are tailored to the group’s specific requirements and, as long as they meet their target numbers (ranging from 10 to 20 guests, depending on the cruise), groups will receive a free cruise place for the Group Travel Organiser, along with Groupsaver pricing for group members and many other free value-added benefits, including a ‘Welcome aboard!’ drinks party and a choice of either free transport options or free onboard spending credits. Selected cruises departing in 2012/13 offer DOUBLE value-added benefits, which means free transport and free onboard spend.
As Ellie Fulcher points out: ‘These benefits favour single guests, as the free onboard spend credit is offered per cabin, not per person; the complimentary group drinks party is also a great opportunity for single guests to meet and mingle, and make new friends during the cruise.’
In addition to this award, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has received a number of prestigious accolades in 2011, including two awards specifically for groups. At the prestigious ‘Group Leisure Awards 2011’, it was voted ‘Best Cruise Line for Groups’ for the second consecutive year. The cruise line was also voted ‘Best Cruise Line for Groups’ by readers of Group Travel Organiser magazine in the ‘Group Travel Awards 2011’ earlier in the year.
