Cruise from Newcastle with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is well known for offering a programme of ex-UK cruises from a variety of regional ports. One of the most popular, with guests from the North East and Scotland, is the easily-accessible Port of Tyne in Newcastle. Cruise ship Boudicca has a selection of northerly autumn cruises from this port at competitive prices.

D1120 is a 13-night cruise to Norway and Iceland, departing from Newcastle on 14th September 2011. Calling first at Bergen, this cruise visits ports on the majestic Sognefjord and Nordfjord, before cruising on to Iceland. First port of call is Akureyri – from here guests can visit the vast waterfall at Godafoss – then on to picturesque Isafjordur, and the capital Reykjavik, for an overnight stay, with time to explore this extraordinary landscape and bathe in the steaming blue lagoon. Boudicca’s next departure D1121 – from Newcastle on 27th September 2011 is a seven-night tour of some of the great Scandinavian cities; it visits Copenhagen (Denmark), Gothenburg (Sweden), Oslo (Norway), and Kristiansand (Norway), before returning to Newcastle. Copenhagen is a delightful city, with its colourful harbour district, and the pretty Tivoli Gardens – blueprint for Disneyland. You can also visit the Ice Bar on a tour of this attractive capital. Attractions in Gothenburg include the Poseidon Fountain and Museum of Fine Arts, while Oslo is home to the stunning Viking Museum and Vigeland Sculpture Park, so this cruise holds great appeal for lovers of culture and history. Prices start from £1,012 per person, based on two adults sharing an outside twin cabin, Grade ‘E’. 

Next is Boudicca’s Baltic cruise, D1122, a 12-night itinerary departing on 4th October 2011. First port of call after leaving Newcastle is Norway’s lovely capital, Oslo, then Halmstad (Sweden), and the little-known port of Turku in Finland, before the main highlight of the cruise – an overnight stay in St. Petersburg, with its breathtaking architecture and amazing art collections. A final call into Copenhagen (Denmark) breaks the return cruise to Newcastle. Prices for this cruise start from £1,624 per person, based on two adults sharing an outside twin cabin, Grade ‘E’.
