Discover the cultural delights of the Black Sea – with FREE onboard spend – on Fred. Olsen's latest 2020 cruise

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines' new 28-night ‘Black Sea Discovery with the Med’ sailing, aboard 880-guest Boudicca, is the latest of its eagerly-awaited 2020 itineraries to be released – ahead of the unveiling of its full 2020/21 ocean cruise programme in March 2019.

Fred. Olsen's exciting new Black Sea and Mediterranean voyage - departing from Dover in September 2020 - will go on sale exclusively to its Oceans loyalty scheme members on 12th December 2018, and on general release on 14th December 2018. FREE onboard spend of up to £250 per person is available on all bookings made by 9th January 2019 inclusive.

Justin Stanton, Sales and Marketing Director for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:

“This is a truly immersive and cultural voyage, which will allow our guests to experience the ‘real’ destination. This sensational scenic cruise takes into account awe-inspiring architecture –including Topkapi Palace and the Blue and Suleymaniye Mosques in Istanbul – as well as offering the chance to delve deep into history, with visits to one of the world’s largest Catabombs in Ukraine and Stalin’s Summer residence in Sochi.

“What’s more, being a September sailing, it provides the perfect opportunity to soak up some late Summer sun, as elegant Boudicca cruises to some of my favourite parts of the Mediterranean. It really does tick all of the boxes!”

Boudicca’s 28-night D2023 ‘Black Sea Discovery with the Med’ cruise, ex Dover on 1st September 2020. Prices start from £3,899 per person.

Ports of call: Dover, UK – Gibraltar – Valletta, Malta – Cruising Darnanelles – Istanbul, Turkey – Cruising Bosphorus – Sochi, Russia – Batumi, Georgia – Odessa, Ukraine – Constanta, Romania – Cruising Bosphorus – Cruising Darnanelles – Piraeus (for Athens), Greece – Katakolon, Greece – Cruising Strait of Messina – Mahon, Menorca, Spain – Cádiz, Spain – Dover, UK

First call will be Gibraltar, with its world-famous Rock, followed by Valletta, the multi-cultural capital of Malta, and the Turkish city of Istanbul, at the 'Crossroads of Europe and Asia', before a scenic cruise along the narrow Bosphorus Strait, leading to the Black Sea.

Visit the rolling wine vineyards of Georgia, explore the labyrinthine corridors of one of the world’s largest historic Catacombs, taste fresh tea on one of Sochi’s many plantations, and take in the stunning views on a boat tour along the Danube.

The price shown is based on two adults sharing a twin-bedded Interior Room, and include accommodation, all meals and entertainment, plus port taxes.

Fred. Olsen's new D2023 ‘Black Sea Discovery with the Med’ sailing is the third itinerary to be released in advance from its 2020/21 cruise programme, following on from the launch of its L2026 ‘American Waterways in the Fall with New York’ sailing, aboard its flagship Balmoral, and the M2109 ‘Greek Islands and Corinth Canal’ cruise, aboard shallow-drafted Braemar.

Fred. Olsen has just been crowned ‘Best for Itineraries’ by Cruise Critic experts in the prestigious ‘UK Editors’ Picks Awards 2018’ – for a record fourth year in a row – and ‘Best Shore Excursions’.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines we are very proud of our smaller ships – Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral - and the imaginative and unusual itineraries they allow us to offer. Every cruise is hand-crafted from scratch by our team of in-house Journey Planners to make sure you are not only visiting the best destinations, but at the best time to experience them.

For us, it’s not just about where we go but how we take you there. We put as much time into planning scenic cruising as we do in choosing the destinations themselves. On board, our Signature Experiences showcase the history, culture, nature and flavours of the destinations you’ll visit – from Treats of the Region, where you can enjoy local delicacies, to our Sky at Sea star-gazing sessions where you can relax with a hot toddy out on deck while our astronomer talks you through the night sky.

Plus, with each ship carrying 1,300 guests or less, our ships are small enough for us to offer a warm, friendly and personal service where nothing is ever too much trouble, as we visit a host of exciting ports in every corner of the globe.
