Enjoy scenic sailing from Scotland with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines in 2017

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is reinforcing its reputation as the ‘cruise line of choice’ from Scotland, a country that has historically been very close to the Olsen family, with a total of 12 departures in 2017: four from Glasgow (Greenock) and eight from Edinburgh (Rosyth).

During its 2017 cruise season, Fred. Olsen will be offering Scottish guests the chance to experience the dramatic scenery of Greenland, the scenic fjords of Norway, and the impressive islands of the Canaries, from the comfort of Fred. Olsen’s smaller, more intimate ships, Boudicca and Black Watch.

Justin Stanton, Sales and Marketing Director for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:

“We are proud of our long-standing links with Scotland, and this year we are looking forward to taking our Scottish guests on scenic sailings along picturesque rivers, canals, lochs and fjords, from ‘right on their doorstep’. The beauty of a Fred. Olsen cruise holiday is that we can get closer to the world’s most beautiful cities and destinations – many of which the larger cruise ships cannot reach.

“Added to this, Black Watch has recently undergone an extensive multi-million-Pound refurbishment, meaning that she is able to offer an even wider range of onboard facilities to guests, and now features a fresher, more contemporary ‘new look’.”

At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines we are very proud of our smaller ships – Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral - and the imaginative and unusual itineraries they allow us to offer. Every cruise is hand-crafted from scratch by our team of in-house Journey Planners to make sure you are not only visiting the best destinations, but at the best time to experience them.

For us, it’s not just about where we go but how we take you there. We put as much time into planning scenic cruising as we do in choosing the destinations themselves. On board, our Signature Experiences showcase the history, culture, nature and flavours of the destinations you’ll visit – from Treats of the Region, where you can enjoy local delicacies, to our Sky at Sea star-gazing sessions where you can relax with a hot toddy out on deck while our astronomer talks you through the night sky.

Plus, with each ship carrying 1,300 guests or less, our ships are small enough for us to offer a warm, friendly and personal service where nothing is ever too much trouble, as we visit a host of exciting ports in every corner of the globe.
