Braemar’s 11-night M1620 ‘The Great British Cruise’, ex Southampton on 8th August 2016

Prices start from just £990 per person, based on two adults sharing a twin-bedded, Interior Room (‘I’ Grade). Ocean View Room available from £1,290 per person (‘F’ Grade).

This ‘Great British Cruise’ is a fantastic celebration of the best of the beautiful British Isles. Falmouth is framed by Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a call to this quintessential Cornish seaside town offers you the chance to wander through the world’s largest indoor rainforest at the nearby Eden Project and get closer to nature on a trip to the Lost Gardens of Heligan. An overnight stay in Cardiff allows you plenty of time to explore the city and discover the abundance of sights and attractions the Welsh capital has to offer, including the impressive Wales Millennium Centre – one of the world’s most iconic arts and culture venues – and the grade-one-listed structures and landscapes of Bute Park. Spend a day in the lively city of Liverpool, the former European Capital of Culture and home of arguably the world’s most famous rock ‘n’ roll band, The Beatles. Sample ‘Britain’s best fish and chips’ in Lerwick – the capital of the Shetland Islands – before heading to Edinburgh’s world-renowned Military Tattoo on a tour from Leith to experience the fantastic celebration of music, theatre and dance – all performed to the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle – in the beautiful Scottish capital.

And, guests will be joined by a very special 'star baker' on board this very British cruise…

No ‘Great British Cruise’ would be complete without a ‘Great British Baker’, so Fred. Olsen is delighted that Nancy Birtwhistle – winner of the BBC’s hit series, ‘Great British Bake Off’, in 2014 – will be joining this cruise in Cardiff, before disembarking in Leith. Whilst on board, Nancy will take part in a ‘Question & Answer’ interview with the Cruise Director to discuss her time on the show and what she is doing now; and Nancy will hold an unmissable baking demonstration to show off her culinary skills and share her extensive knowledge of baking.

Ports of call: Southampton, England – Falmouth, England – Cardiff, Wales – Barrow-in-Furness (for Lake District), England – Liverpool, England – Lerwick, Shetland Islands – Edinburgh (from Leith), Scotland (overnight stay) – Southampton, England

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines we are very proud of our smaller ships – Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral - and the imaginative and unusual itineraries they allow us to offer. Every cruise is hand-crafted from scratch by our team of in-house Journey Planners to make sure you are not only visiting the best destinations, but at the best time to experience them.

For us, it’s not just about where we go but how we take you there. We put as much time into planning scenic cruising as we do in choosing the destinations themselves. On board, our Signature Experiences showcase the history, culture, nature and flavours of the destinations you’ll visit – from Treats of the Region, where you can enjoy local delicacies, to our Sky at Sea star-gazing sessions where you can relax with a hot toddy out on deck while our astronomer talks you through the night sky.

Plus, with each ship carrying 1,300 guests or less, our ships are small enough for us to offer a warm, friendly and personal service where nothing is ever too much trouble, as we visit a host of exciting ports in every corner of the globe.
