Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines releases two new Caribbean fly-cruises for winter 2016

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is offering guests two new Caribbean fly-cruises for winter 2016 aboard 929-guest ship Braemar. Guests can choose from a 14-night M1630A ‘Canary Islands to the Caribbean’ cruise, which departs on 8th December 2016 or a 14-night M1631A ‘Caribbean Christmas’ holiday, which departs on 22nd December 2016. These exotic fly-cruises, with prices starting from £1,549 per person, enable guests to escape the cold British winter and indulge in the laid back atmosphere of the Caribbean.

Both of these new itineraries are included in Fred. Olsen’s ‘Turn of Year’ campaign, where guests can choose between two great value offers – ‘Three Cruises for the Price of Two’* or ‘Free Tips & Tipples’*, when they book before 2nd March 2016. In addition, if guests book Braemar’s 14-night M1630A ‘Canary Islands to the Caribbean’ cruise, they can get up to £100pp cashback* (must be booked by 31st January 2016).

Fred. Olsen’s two new Caribbean fly-cruises are:

Braemar’s 14-night M1630A ‘Canary Islands to the Caribbean’ fly-cruise, departing from London Gatwick / Manchester on 8th December 2016. Prices start from £1,549 per person (including return flights to Santa Cruz, Tenerife and from Bridgetown, Barbados).

Leaving the UK behind, guests will arrive in Santa Cruz in Tenerife, where they can explore the exotic Botanical Gardens or the mystical and intriguing Pyramids of Guimar, before Braemar sets sail for San Sebastian in La Gomera.

Next is the sun-drenched Caribbean. Braemar will call first at Philipsburg, the capital of the Dutch half of St. Maarten, an island amicably shared between Holland and France for centuries. A shopper’s paradise, guests can buy everything from jewellery to electrical goods, or should they want a more relaxing day, can take a water taxi to the nearby sandy beach.

Next, is a call to Tortola, which was once a famous haunt for pirates! The capital, Road Town, is typically old-world Caribbean and home to the legendary Pussers Bar – the perfect place to try some authentic Caribbean rum.

The great bay of English Harbour and historic Nelsons Dockyard are two exciting highlights in the next port of call – the pretty island of Antigua. With a day to explore St. John’s, guests can visit the colourful market which sells flowers, fruit and handicrafts or take a swim in the azure waters.

A call to the fascinating city of Fort de France, Martinique’s largest city, is next, before Braemar arrives in Castries, the capital of St. Lucia. On an overnight stay here, guests will have plenty of time to explore. Visit the white-sand beach of Rodney Bay or take an aerial tram through the treetops of the lush rainforest.

Braemar will then arrive in Bridgetown, Barbados, where guests can discover Harrison’s Cave, sail the calm waters in search of sea turtles or soak up the relaxed atmosphere, before flying back to the UK.

Braemar’s 14-night M1631A ‘Caribbean Christmas’ fly-cruise, departing from London Gatwick or Manchester on 22nd December 2016. Prices start from £2,199 per person (including return flights to / from Bridgetown, Barbados).

Arriving in Bridgetown in Barbados, guests can join the ship and then take some time to enjoy the island, before setting sail for Kingstown in St. Vincent. A unique way to spend Christmas Eve, guests can admire the astonishing scenery of this impressive island, with its dense rainforests, soaring mountains and coral reefs.

After spending a fun-filled and indulgent Christmas Day on board Braemar, guests will arrive in Bonaire’s capital, Kralendijk. Situated on the west coast of this idyllic island, guests will notice all the houses, which line the many beaches, are painted in pastel shades of pink, green and blue. Guests can explore the Washington Slagbaai National Park, home to flamingos, iguanas and giant cacti, or visit the nearby uninhabited island of Klein Bonaire, to relax on the beach.

Braemar will then make a call into Curaçao’s Dutch-influenced capital, Willemstad, which is also known as ‘Amsterdam in the sun’, before arriving in Oranjestad in Aruba. Visit the island’s Butterfly Farm, see the Natural Bridge of Aruba or find a spot on the beach and look out for the flamingos, which are occasionally spotted balancing on the pristine sands.

After calls into St. John’s in Antigua and Road in Tortola – where guests will see in the New Year – this festive Caribbean adventure makes a call to Phillipsburg in St. Maarten.

Guests will then spend a day in Roseau in Dominica, where guests can travel into the exotic tropical centre of the island – which soars to 4,700 feet – to explore a wonderful environment of lush rainforest, deep lakes and glittering waterfalls.

Braemar will then set sail for Fort de France on the island of Martinique, before guests can enjoy an overnight stay in Castries in St. Lucia. Next, guests will arrive back in Bridgetown in Barbados to fly back to the UK.

All prices above include accommodation, all meals and entertainment on board, port and airport taxes and return flights.

Fred. Olsen is delighted to have won the ‘Best for Itineraries’ accolade in the 2015 Cruise Critic ‘UK Editors’ Picks Awards’, in recognition of its commitment to ‘bringing the world closer to you’.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines we are very proud of our smaller ships – Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral - and the imaginative and unusual itineraries they allow us to offer. Every cruise is hand-crafted from scratch by our team of in-house Journey Planners to make sure you are not only visiting the best destinations, but at the best time to experience them.

For us, it’s not just about where we go but how we take you there. We put as much time into planning scenic cruising as we do in choosing the destinations themselves. On board, our Signature Experiences showcase the history, culture, nature and flavours of the destinations you’ll visit – from Treats of the Region, where you can enjoy local delicacies, to our Sky at Sea star-gazing sessions where you can relax with a hot toddy out on deck while our astronomer talks you through the night sky.

Plus, with each ship carrying 1,300 guests or less, our ships are small enough for us to offer a warm, friendly and personal service where nothing is ever too much trouble, as we visit a host of exciting ports in every corner of the globe.
