Press release -

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines to exhibit at the ‘Scandinavia Show 2011’

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines will be exhibiting at the Scandinavia Show 2011 at London’s Earls Court on 8th and 9th October 2011, to promote its extensive range of cruises to Scandinavian destinations. Fred. Olsen’s team of cruise experts will be on hand on Stand 165 to talk about the cruise line’s varied programme of cruises to Scandinavia, as well as distributing postcards and leaflets about the various cruise experiences on offer.

These include sailings to the Norwegian fjords, the North Cape, Iceland, the Baltic and mini cruises to Bergen. Many of the Baltic cruises call at the Nordic capitals of Helsinki, Copenhagen and Stockholm, as well as other fascinating towns and cities of the region, whilst cruises to the fjords or North Cape often call in at Oslo. Itineraries to this part of the world are especially popular with Fred. Olsen guests, as befits the cruise line’s strong Norwegian heritage. Of particular interest will be Black Watch’s nine-night W1203 ‘The Fjords of Norway’ cruise in May 2012, which will be visiting Oslo on 17th May 2012 to celebrate Norwegian Constitution Day.

Stars of this year’s Scandinavia Show will be actors from the acclaimed Danish crime thriller, ‘The Killing’ – Sophie Grǻbǿl and Søren Malling – and, appearing in the main Show theatre will be Danish antiques expert and Antiques Roadshow stalwart, Lars Tharp. Lars can often be found aboard Fred. Olsen cruises, where he hosts a theme of ‘Antiques’ as part of the company’s award-winning cruise enrichment programme – Vistas. The programme of special interests, hosted by expert speakers and tutors from a host of different fields, was recently voted ‘Best Educational Cruise’ in the ‘Cruise International Awards 2011’. Importantly, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines was also voted ‘Cruise Line of the Year’ by the magazine’s readers and Fred. Olsen’s loyal legion of supporters.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines we are very proud of our smaller ships – Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral - and the imaginative and unusual itineraries they allow us to offer. Every cruise is hand-crafted from scratch by our team of in-house Journey Planners to make sure you are not only visiting the best destinations, but at the best time to experience them.

For us, it’s not just about where we go but how we take you there. We put as much time into planning scenic cruising as we do in choosing the destinations themselves. On board, our Signature Experiences showcase the history, culture, nature and flavours of the destinations you’ll visit – from Treats of the Region, where you can enjoy local delicacies, to our Sky at Sea star-gazing sessions where you can relax with a hot toddy out on deck while our astronomer talks you through the night sky.

Plus, with each ship carrying 1,300 guests or less, our ships are small enough for us to offer a warm, friendly and personal service where nothing is ever too much trouble, as we visit a host of exciting ports in every corner of the globe.
