Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines to visit the paradise island of Bermuda for the America’s Cup in Summer 2017

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is offering guests a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ chance to visit the paradise island of Bermuda in June 2017, to take in the excitement and exhilaration of the 35th America’s Cup. Fred. Olsen’s 26-night ‘Bermuda & the America’s Cup’ cruise, on board 880-guest ship Boudicca, will enjoy an extended four-day stay in Bermuda – remaining overnight in St. George, and spending two nights in the capital, Hamilton.

Fred. Olsen’s ‘Bermuda & the America’s Cup’ cruise is offering guests a selection of optional, chargeable shore tours to bring them closer to the action of the America’s Cup, which combines the skills of the world’s best sailors and the world’s fastest boats, as they sail across the water at speeds close to 50mph! Guests can opt to visit the America’s Cup Village at the Royal Naval Dockyard; obtain Grandstand Tickets – located in the America’s Cup Village; or soak up the atmosphere on a Spectator Boat Experience, exclusive to Fred. Olsen guests.

To enhance guests’ onboard experience, this special cruise will also feature fascinating talks by sailing-related guest speakers Paul Covell, the renowned round-the-world sailor, and knowledgeable ocean yachtsman, Peter Roach.

Justin Stanton, Sales and Marketing Director for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:

“Having won the coveted ‘Best for Itineraries’ accolade in Cruise Critic’s ‘UK Editors’ Picks Awards’ for the past two years, we pride ourselves on offering holidays that capture the imagination of our guests.

“The America’s Cup is a competition for one of the oldest trophies in international sport, and this year’s event promises to be full of thrills and excitement. Our themed cruise includes a four-day stay in Bermuda, and gives our guests the chance to combine this incredible sporting experience with a relaxing, rewarding holiday – the best of both worlds!”

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines we are very proud of our smaller ships – Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral - and the imaginative and unusual itineraries they allow us to offer. Every cruise is hand-crafted from scratch by our team of in-house Journey Planners to make sure you are not only visiting the best destinations, but at the best time to experience them.

For us, it’s not just about where we go but how we take you there. We put as much time into planning scenic cruising as we do in choosing the destinations themselves. On board, our Signature Experiences showcase the history, culture, nature and flavours of the destinations you’ll visit – from Treats of the Region, where you can enjoy local delicacies, to our Sky at Sea star-gazing sessions where you can relax with a hot toddy out on deck while our astronomer talks you through the night sky.

Plus, with each ship carrying 1,300 guests or less, our ships are small enough for us to offer a warm, friendly and personal service where nothing is ever too much trouble, as we visit a host of exciting ports in every corner of the globe.
