Press release -
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines unveils third Corinth Canal sailing in first glimpse of 2021/22 ocean programme
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has confirmed that its 929-guest ship, Braemar, will be returning to the Corinth Canal in September 2022 for a third time, offering even more guests the opportunity to experience this record-breaking sailing.
Fred. Olsen’s Braemar made history in October 2019 by becoming the largest ship – at just under 186 metres long – to sail the 6.4-kilometre canal, which is only 24 metres wide at its narrowest point.
Fred. Olsen has unveiled its new Corinth Canal sailing in Autumn 2022 as the first preview itinerary from its forthcoming 2021/22 cruise programme, which went on sale to the top tiers of its Oceans loyalty scheme from 12th November 2019, and is now on several sale from today [18th November 2019].
Jackie Martin, Marketing and Sales Director at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:
“In October, Braemar made history by becoming the largest ship ever to sail the Corinth Canal, which is just 24-metres wide at its narrowest point. The rock faces were so close that guests could – quite literally – almost touch them.
"Our World Record is something of which we, as a company, feel immensely proud and is a huge milestone in our history, generating media interest worldwide.
“We wanted as many of our guests as possible to enjoy this phenomenal experience, so we are thrilled to be doing it all again in 2022. Guests are advised to get booking soon to avoid disappointment, with this cruise proving exceptionally popular already!"
