Press release -

Fred. Olsen's Mike Evans celebrates a quarter of a century with the cruise line!

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines' Mike Evans, Head of Sales, is celebrating a milestone 25 years with the Suffolk-based company.

Mike joined Fred. Olsen on 3rd August 1992, and has fulfilled a number of roles within the Sales Department of the cruise line during that time, including his current role as Head of Sales - which he assumed in April 2017 - as well as Sales Manager - Independent Retail, and Regional Sales Manager for the North of England, Scotland & Northern Ireland.

Mike is well-known within the travel industry, having worked in many areas of the travel trade, including retail, tour operations, tourist boards and airline sales, across a 40-year career.

Mike is now responsible for managing Fred. Olsen’s UK Sales teams, as well as further developing relations with the travel trade.

Speaking of his milestone 25th anniversary with Fred. Olsen, Mike Evans said:

“It is fantastic to be celebrating a quarter of a century with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines – the time has really flown by.

“I have seen how the company has changed and expanded over the years and I am really proud to be a part of that.

“I am particularly excited to be leading the team at this time, when we are looking to engage with the travel trade even more than we have done, and we have increased the number of new and innovative itineraries – including our extensive fly-cruise programme.”

Mike Rodwell, Managing Director of Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said

“We thank Mike for his continued commitment and passion for Fred. Olsen and our unique style of cruising.

"As we have expanded as a cruise line over the years - from one ship to our current ocean fleet of four, plus the new Brabant river cruise vessel - so Mike has grown with us, and he has handled every new challenge professionally and with his usual enthusiasm.

"Mike enjoys great respect and an excellent reputation within the travel and cruise industry, and he is a popular and much-loved colleague and friend. We wish him many more happy and exciting years with Fred. Olsen to come!"

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines we are very proud of our smaller ships – Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral - and the imaginative and unusual itineraries they allow us to offer. Every cruise is hand-crafted from scratch by our team of in-house Journey Planners to make sure you are not only visiting the best destinations, but at the best time to experience them.

For us, it’s not just about where we go but how we take you there. We put as much time into planning scenic cruising as we do in choosing the destinations themselves. On board, our Signature Experiences showcase the history, culture, nature and flavours of the destinations you’ll visit – from Treats of the Region, where you can enjoy local delicacies, to our Sky at Sea star-gazing sessions where you can relax with a hot toddy out on deck while our astronomer talks you through the night sky.

Plus, with each ship carrying 1,300 guests or less, our ships are small enough for us to offer a warm, friendly and personal service where nothing is ever too much trouble, as we visit a host of exciting ports in every corner of the globe.
