Ipswich based Fred. Olsen’s charity day culminates in £12,000 raised in 12 months
Staff at Ipswich based Fred. Olsen Limited and Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines held a charity day with a travel theme and raised more than £320 for their three chosen causes – St Elizabeth Hospice, EACH and Inspire Suffolk.
On Friday (24th March 2017) Fred. Olsen staff dressed down for the day, bought homemade cakes and entered a Lego competition, with a travel-based theme, to raise funds.
Representatives of each of the three charities attended the event, which was a culmination of a series of staff fundraising activities that altogether have raised a total of £12,000 in 12 months, to be divided between the three causes.
Sarah Rowe, Marketing and Communications Manager for Inspire Suffolk, said: “The team at Fred. Olsen have been so enthusiastic fundraising this year.
“We are grateful for their support of Inspire Suffolk, so in turn we can support even more young people to take a positive path.”
Vicky Matthews, Corporate Fundraiser (Suffolk) for East Anglia Children’s Hospices (EACH) also praised Fred. Olsen staff and said: “We are delighted to have benefited from Fred. Olsen's year of fundraising.
"Backing from the business community like this is invaluable as it enables us to continue providing our vital services, including short-break care, end-of-life care and bereavement support, to children, young people and their families.”
Nikki Brown, Senior Partnerships Fundraiser at St Elizabeth Hospice, added: "The £4,000 raised over the past year is just absolutely wonderful!
"It means so much to us that local businesses support St Elizabeth Hospice. We can’t thank them enough for allowing us to continue to give care to the local community.”
The winner of the Lego competition was Financial Accountant James Roper, who won a bottle of bubbly with his beach scene with a speed boat.
