Press release -
Last chance to book on Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ first-ever ‘Mystery Cruise’!
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has just a few cabins remaining on its near-sellout ‘Mystery Cruise’, which departs from Tilbury on board Black Watch on 15th November 2014, for 14 nights. A first for the cruise line, the mystery is where in the world will Fred. Olsen take you?
Whilst Fred. Olsen is keeping the itinerary of this 'cruise to who knows where' tightly under wraps, guests will have the opportunity to visit ten UNESCO World Heritage Sites, spend eight days in port, explore fourexciting countries and discover onecapital city!
Nathan Philpot, Sales and Marketing Director for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:
"We have had great fun putting this intriguing ‘Mystery Cruise’ together – which is a first for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines – and we are thrilled that it has proved so popular with our guests.
“As with all Fred. Olsen sailings, the highlight is the itinerary, although this is a very unusual cruise offering, in that most people on the ship will not know where it is going! But our loyal guests have put their trust in Fred. Olsen to provide them with a very different and unique holiday experience, and they can rest assured that we will not let them down!”
Other highlights of this ‘Mystery Cruise’ include an overnight stay in the region's top port of call, as rated by Fred. Olsen guests, and one late-evening sailing. There will be two ‘murder mystery’ dinners for guests to enjoy – the first, ‘The Spaghetti Murders’, will feature ‘Gangstas and Molls’, and the second, ‘Murder at The Manor’, is a modern-day tale of dastardly deeds and deadly doings! With glitz and glamour, twists and turns, guests will have great fun trying to unravel these intriguing stories!
There will also be a host of prominent authors, speakers and entertainers on board to enhance guests’ experience. Author Mei Trow – known for his formidable reputation as a scholar 'who peels away legend to reveal the truth' – will be giving talks to guests on 'The Mysteries of the Sea', taking a light-hearted, and sometimes serious, look 'behind the scenes' at the world of writing and publishing.
Professor Terrey Keefe is a writer and mystery specialist, who will discuss his views on the Titanic disaster, as well as giving talks on the mysteries of the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, and famous detectives and villains, including Sherlock Holmes and Hannibal Lecter.
For guests with a flair for story-telling, writer Judith Cranswick – a two-time winner of the coveted ‘National Association of Writers’ GroupsAward’ – will be leading creative writing workshops on board; you never know, this cruise may uncover the next Agatha Christie!
The final few remaining cabins on this ‘cruise with a difference’ start from just £1,299 per person, based on two adults sharing a twin-bedded ‘Inside’ cabin, and include accommodation, all meals and entertainment on board – including special ‘mystery’ themed activities – plus port dues.
In keeping with this unusual ‘Mystery Cruise’, Fred. Olsen was proud to be voted 'Best for Enrichment' in the 'Cruise International Awards 2014', for the third time.
