New Gin-Menu unveiled aboard Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ fleet

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is pleased to announce the launch of its dedicated Gin Menu, which will be available at the Marquee Bars across its fleet of intimately sized ships – Balmoral, Braemar, Boudicca and Black Watch. A gin and tonic is a popular favourite with the British public, and Fred. Olsen will be offering 18 different varieties of gin for guests to choose from, with prices starting at a very reasonable £2.85.

Nathan Philpot, Sales and Marketing Director for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:

“At Fred. Olsen we are committed to enhancing our on board experience for guests, as well as ensuring that we are in-tune with popular culture and trends. Therefore, we are very excited to be offering a specialist Gin Menu at our sociable, outdoor Marquee Bars.

“We know many of our guests like to sit-back, relax and enjoy their favourite tipple on a cruise holiday, and now, with Fred. Olsen, they can choose from an array of gin and tonics, including a traditional Beefeater dry-gin, a distinct Botanist Islay gin, or a unique Pinkster’s gin-blend.”

“The popularity of gin has grown significantly over the last five years, with many independent craft distilleries emerging in the UK and so it seemed only right that, as a British cruise line, we offered a tantalising menu dedicated to this quintessentially British drink.”

Fred. Olsen’s Gin Menu, which will be served exclusively at the Marquee Bars – located on the Marquee Decks across the fleet – also features six different tonics, which have been carefully paired with their most suited gin.

Food, drink and the overall dining experience are of great importance on board a Fred. Olsen cruise, and in 2015 its team of expert Chefs were very proud to have been awarded the Holiday & Cruise Channel’s prestigious ‘Telly Award’ for ‘Britain’s Best Cruise Line for Food’.

Fred. Olsen is pleased to have been awarded the ‘Gold Trusted Merchant’ status by independent review site, Feefo, in 2016 – for the third year in a row. This accreditation is based on genuine customer feedback and, to date, Fred. Olsen has received over 14,300 reviews, with 95% of these being in the ‘Excellent’ or ‘Good’ categories.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has defined and redefined the cruise experience, and judging by the number of passengers that come back time and again, we seem to have styled it to perfection

The company originated in Hvitsten, a small town on Oslofjord in Norway, in 1848 when three Olsen brothers – Fredrik Christian, Petter and Andreas – bought their first ships and began an international shipping company.

Now into the fifth generation of the family, they operate companies skilled in various aspects of the cruise and passenger shipping trade as well as aviation, ships’ crewing, shipbuilding and offshore industries.
Aside from the transportation industries, the Fred. Olsen group also has interests in the luxury hotel sector, estate management, property development, and electronics companies.

Offices for the company are spread throughout the world, although the company headquarters remain firmly in the family’s hands in Oslo and Tenerife. Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is based in Ipswich in Suffolk.
