“With its stunning vistas and proud maritime heritage, there is something very special about cruising from Liverpool, and it is a tremendous benefit to be able to offer our guests the chance to set sail from the world-famous Pier Head."

So, whether it is exploring historic Casablanca, relaxing on the beaches of the alluring Canaries, or taking in the beauty of the ‘Garden Island’ of Madeira, this exciting sunshine holiday has it all!

Details of this cruise are as follows:

- Black Watch’s 14-night W1510 ‘Canaries, Madeira & Morocco’ cruise, ex Liverpool on 28th June 2015.

This cruise makes its first call in Casablanca, the largest city in Morocco. This unique destination – which derives its name from the Portuguese word combination meaning ‘White house’ – is home to chic bars and stylish restaurants, bustling shops in the Old Medina, and the breathtaking Hassan II Mosque. Guests can do some ‘set-jetting’ and take a tour to Ricks Café, which has been made famous by Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman as the backdrop to the movie classic, Casablanca.

Next, Black Watch calls at Las Palmas, in Gran Canaria. Here, guests can absorb the mix of Renaissance, Gothic and Neo-Classical architecture, or relax by the sand dunes and palm trees of Maspalomas Beach.

Guests will then have the chance to take in La Gomera’s capital, San Sebastian, which has historic links to Christopher Columbus – as legend has it that the famous explorer stopped here on his way to America. Visit Torre del Conde, a military tower built in 1447, or take a tour to explore the natural beauty of the National Park of Garajonay.

Black Watch then arrives in Santa Cruz, in Tenerife, where guests can visit the exotic Botanical Gardens or the mystical and intriguing Pyramids of Guimar. Tenerife is also known as the ‘Island of Eternal Spring’, boasting warm waters all-year-round, making it a great haven for dolphins and whales.

After a call into Funchal, in Madeira – famous for its floral displays and verdant splendour –

– guests will arrive in Leixoes, in Portugal, for tours to Oporto. Perched on the River Douro, this enchanting city offers guests a number of Port cellars to visit, or they can take a leisurely stroll along its scenic quayside.

Black Watch will then set sail for her return journey to Liverpool.

The price for this sunshine cruise is based on two adults sharing a twin-bedded, Inside cabin, and includes accommodation, all meals and entertainment on board, and port taxes.

In all, Fred. Olsen is offering 15 cruises from Liverpool in 2015/16, which is an increase on the 11 cruises that it undertook from the city last year.

Fred. Olsen is pleased to have been awarded the ‘Gold Trusted Merchant’ status by independent review site Feefo in 2015, for the second year in a row. This accreditation is based on genuine customer feedback and, to date, Fred. Olsen has received over 11,000 reviews, with 95% of these being in the ‘Good’ or ‘Excellent’ categories.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines we are very proud of our smaller ships – Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral - and the imaginative and unusual itineraries they allow us to offer. Every cruise is hand-crafted from scratch by our team of in-house Journey Planners to make sure you are not only visiting the best destinations, but at the best time to experience them.

For us, it’s not just about where we go but how we take you there. We put as much time into planning scenic cruising as we do in choosing the destinations themselves. On board, our Signature Experiences showcase the history, culture, nature and flavours of the destinations you’ll visit – from Treats of the Region, where you can enjoy local delicacies, to our Sky at Sea star-gazing sessions where you can relax with a hot toddy out on deck while our astronomer talks you through the night sky.

Plus, with each ship carrying 1,300 guests or less, our ships are small enough for us to offer a warm, friendly and personal service where nothing is ever too much trouble, as we visit a host of exciting ports in every corner of the globe.
