The following cruise, BL026 is a welcome opportunity to visit the Caribbean without flying. The 28-night cruise departs Dover on 19th October and calls at Madeira and Tenerife before the Atlantic crossing. Caribbean islands visited are Barbados, Grenada, St Lucia, Antigua, St Marten and Tortola offering a wealth of diversity and colour. The return crossing is broken by a visit to Ponta Delgada in the Azores and the ship docks back in Dover on 16th November.

This leisurely cruise, offering welcome winter sun, carries a discount of 45% on all grades and prices start from £1,715 per person based on two sharing an inside twin cabin. Third and fourth adults sharing and children sharing with parents enjoy the same discounts as BL025.

To make these cruises all the more appealing, some very special musical entertainment will be provided on board by “Music of Your Life” – a popular American radio network featuring the Big Band Sound beloved of the “baby boomer” generation, who make up so many of Fred. Olsen’s customers.

BL025
This cruise features music in the Big Band tradition, plus comedy. Star turn is Bill Tole & the Jimmy Dorsey 7, one of the best-known touring orchestras in the world. Other acts on this sector include Lorri Hafer and Michele Anastasio. Lorri has toured worldwide as featured vocalist with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and, as a founding member of the Hillside Singers, she was the lead vocalist on the worldwide ht “I’d like to teach the world to sing.” Michele Anastasio is a regular at New York’s Roseland Ballroom and at nightclubs in Atlantic City. MC on this sector is Herb Oscar Anderson, the legendary singing DJ. Comedy is provided by Chris Rich, who combines Irish roots with a whacky sense of humour (Chris is also co-MC) and special guest Al “George Burns” Long, one of the funniest tribute acts around.

BL026
Music on this cruise features “Jazz and Standards” with music from Lorri Hafer, Michele Anastasio and Herb Oscar Anderson and comedy from Al “George Burns” Long. It also stars the Big Band Tradition plus Hillside Singers Reunion. A highlight is Richie Chiaraluce’s Tribute to Benny Goodman. Richie has performed with many world-famous singers, including Mel Torme, Tony Bennett and Natalie Cole. He has also performed worldwide as a solo artist and a featured player with Buddy Morrow and the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra,as well s the Woody Herman All-Stars. His great love is the music of Benny Goodman as this tribute will testify. Other artists on this sector include Ron Gutierrez, a featured singer with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, and The Shaw Brothers, identical twins who have performed together for over 40 years.

In addition to the entertainment laid on by this impressive company of artists, there are music-related quizzes, workshops and opportunities for guests to meet and mingle with the performers.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines

At Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines we are very proud of our smaller ships – Bolette, Borealis and Balmoral - and the imaginative and unusual itineraries they allow us to offer. Every cruise is hand-crafted from scratch by our team of in-house Journey Planners to make sure you are not only visiting the best destinations, but at the best time to experience them.

For us, it’s not just about where we go but how we take you there. We put as much time into planning scenic cruising as we do in choosing the destinations themselves. On board, our Signature Experiences showcase the history, culture, nature and flavours of the destinations you’ll visit – from Treats of the Region, where you can enjoy local delicacies, to our Sky at Sea star-gazing sessions where you can relax with a hot toddy out on deck while our astronomer talks you through the night sky.

Plus, with each ship carrying 1,300 guests or less, our ships are small enough for us to offer a warm, friendly and personal service where nothing is ever too much trouble, as we visit a host of exciting ports in every corner of the globe.
