Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is celebrating a strong start to the New Year, after December 2013 and January 2014 saw the highest number of guest bookings since 2008. In December 2013, revenue was up 80% year-on-year against 2012 and on January 13th 2014, the cruise line had one of its biggest sale days ever.
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines' guests who book onto Black Watch's 8-night 'Bright Lights and Overnights' cruise, departing from Southampton on 8th May 2014, will receive a free shore tour to Keekenhof Gardens in Amsterdam (Netherlands), if they confirm their booking by 19th February 2014. This stunning 'city breaks' cruise has three overnight stays in Rouen (for Paris, France), Amsterdam and Hamburg.
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines' 1,350-guest flagship, Balmoral, has become an internet sensation, after video footage of her dramatic 'stretch' by 30 metres at the Blohm + Voss shipyard in Hamburg, Germany in 2008 was posted on popular websites for the BBC and 'Daily Mail', amongst others. The clip has now been seen and enjoyed by over 350,000 viewers online.
In response to guest feedback for shorter cruise itineraries, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has created seven ‘mini-cruises’ – including a new product of 2-night ‘Introductory’ cruises – for the 2014/15 cruise season. Fred. Olsen’s mini-cruises of two and three nights include city breaks to Paris and Dublin, and are the perfect opportunity for guests to have a weekend escape or for first-time cruisers.
As part of the recent redecoration and refurbishment of its 804-guest cruise ship Black Watch, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has introduced a new ‘Morning Light Pub’ on Lounge Deck Six. The work to redevelop the former ‘Pipers Bar’ took place during Black Watch’s 25-night ‘Christmas in the Caribbean’ cruise in December 2013.
